Well, if you have been around for a while you would know that I am a huge Sister Hazel fan. When ever they are doing a local show you can bet that I will be there. This past week they were in Sebastian FL doing a show at Captain hiram’s Sandbar. I was lucky enough to not only be at the show but (after a long story) I was given a pass to photograph the show from the bands tour manager himself! Then after an awesome concert, I was able to hang out and talk to the band members. I am still not sure how I became so lucky!
I would just like to say a quick Thank You to the band Sister Hazel, and awesome crew, and to Scott Huber for being so sweet and hospitable to us.

A very good friend of mine was on the phone with me at one point during the concert. When Jett Beres the bands base guitarist motioned for me to hand him the phone. He then played and sang to her over the phone during the concert! I am telling you these guys are ridiculously cool!
It was great to get to hang out with them after the concert! This is a picture of me with the lead singer Ken Block. Thanks again guys!

One of my goals for this year is to take more pictures of my kids. Though I am a photographer, I have to admit that there are times when we go out that I do not even bring my camera. The reason for that is, as a mom of six, so often I have my hands full and adding one more thing (my camera) seems overwhelming. Also, as any photographer will tell you, shooting your own kids is the biggest challenge.
Anyway, last week my kids wanted to go to the local skate park. My kids asked if I would take pictures of them as they skated… well YEAH! now before you jump me for them not having helmets on, I let them take them off for the pictures. I probably should not have but I did. Next time… helmets, helmets, helmets!!! So, please don’t send me any hate mail. The good news is no one got hurt or even took a good “wipeout” that day!
They are normally very sweet giggly kids but for these photo’s they showed their “tough kid, skater attitude” except Olivia who is just a girly-girl through and through!

I have had a lot of people ask me how the photographs from the “help portrait“ shoot last month turned out.
My answer…. They turned out great!
Due to the nature of that event, I had not really intended on posting pictures from it. However, there was one mom who was so happy and excited to show off her photo’s, she not only gave me permission to post them but also wrote me the most lovely letter about it! Some of the letter can be found here.
She has the most adorable baby! oh, I could have taken pictures of her all day!!
